The Cisco Meraki MR44-HW is a cloud-managed Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) indoor access point built for modern enterprise, education, healthcare, retail, and hospitality environments. It delivers high efficiency, improved capacity, and strong performance for environments with many connected devices.
It supports a dual-radio architecture (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz) with MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies, enabling better simultaneous connections and improved overall network efficiency. The MR44 provides up to ~3 Gbps aggregate wireless throughput, making it suitable for high-demand applications like VoIP, HD video streaming, and large-scale client deployments.
The device includes a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet uplink port, ensuring the wired backhaul does not become a bottleneck for Wi-Fi 6 speeds. It is powered via 802.3af/at PoE, simplifying installation with a single cable for both power and data.
In addition to performance, the MR44 integrates Meraki’s cloud management platform, allowing centralized configuration, monitoring, firmware updates, and security control. It also includes a dedicated security and RF management radio, supporting real-time intrusion detection (WIDS/WIPS), spectrum analysis, and enhanced enterprise security features.
With built-in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) support, the MR44 can also be used for location analytics, asset tracking, and engagement services in smart enterprise deployments.
